Electric wheelchair of dreams. Green Innovation is a company focused on mobility, where solutions benefit everyone, but especially people with disabilities and reduced mobility. Headquartered in Brazil, one of its outstanding products is the Divinità electric wheelchair, produced through advanced technological studies and high quality materials.
Power chairs are great for people who don’t have the strength and coordination to drive a manual wheelchair. It can also be very useful as a means of locomotion, replacing public transport in various situations, or in places where accessibility conditions are very difficult, and that only personal strength cannot withstand.
For a long time, this type of equipment was manufactured in such a way that the choice was difficult, as they were usually manufactured with a not very pleasant appearance, with a large size that hindered circulation in different environments, in addition to being extremely heavy and difficult to disassemble to accommodate in the means of transport such as cars, buses and planes. A study focused on the problems encountered by users of electric wheelchair was carried out, and solutions were created through the model called Divinità, an Italian word that means “divinity”.
Qualities of the Divinità electric wheelchair
DURABILITY
A wheelchair needs to be strong. Most users use the equipment daily for many hours, and therefore need quality materials to withstand it. In addition to economy, by not having problems with technical assistance and constant replacement of parts, being durable also means the security that the electric wheelchair will not leave you in the middle of the way. The reliability of the quality is great, to the point where Divinità wheelchair customers are offered a 10-year warranty on the welds on its aluminum parts, 5 years on maintenance-free motors, 2 years on the battery and all electronics and 3 months in other parts.
BATTERY
Unlike all competitors, Divinita uses only 1 battery instead of two. Only at this point are we talking about 50% annual savings. In addition, it has a shelf life of up to 5 years and is backed by a 2-year factory warranty. It weighs only 2.6 kg and has dimensions on average of only 1/4 of when compared to competitors. With a load it runs up to 18 km. Charging can be done either from a 110 V or 220 V outlet. The battery is dry and sealed with low-amperage lithium, which allows travel on all airlines and with autonomy for more than 24 uninterrupted hours or up to 18 km.
ECONOMY
The savings that the electric wheelchair can provide is also a very significant item. This equipment is not changed very often, so it’s good to think long term. Divinità has some items that have already been mentioned, but let’s think from the point of view of the economy. A single, more durable battery means, in addition to a longer period of use until replacement, when necessary, the cost will drop to less than half compared to conventional power chairs. Frequent technical assistance is a villain in the long-term cost. Each intervention is as if you were paying installments. So it is important to have a durable product, which maintains its quality only with basic revisions. It is a product manufactured in Brazil with international quality, and the factory has parts in stock for any exchange needs. In addition to the convenience in purchasing, it eliminates imports that end up making imported purchases more expensive.
VERY LIGHT
The weight makes a difference, because with a lighter wheelchair, the effort of the engines and the consumption of the battery will be less. Also when transporting, as it needs to be light in order to be lifted by anyone. Divinità weighs only 15 kg, while most tend to weigh over 50 kg, weighing up to 90 kg.
EASY TO FOLD
Ease of folding is a huge advantage. There are electric wheelchair that don’t even fold. Divinità folds in practically two movements. First unlocking from the rear, then bringing the seat closer to the backrest, all within seconds! There are other complementary procedures, such as folding the footrest, and removing the joystick, but they are also quick and easy.
COMPACT SIZE
Once folded, Divinitá has a very compact volume. It even fits in a tiny VW trunk and users have already taken it on plane trips, in the aircraft’s internal luggage compartment. This feature is important, as many cars say they have a huge trunk, but its opening is small, and does not allow the entry of large volumes despite a large capacity in liters. Usually cars in the sedan model are like this.
MODERN LOOK
Looks do matter, nobody wants something ugly, right? Divinità’s design is light, without looking like a electric wheelchair. Because the traditional ones are a mess, very big, that gives the impression that you are transiting in a mini battle tank. This draws a lot of attention and annoys, which no one likes. So with a cleaner appearance, with a smaller volume, it is more pleasing to the eyes.
STABILITY
Stability is a matter of comfort and safety. And in a wheelchair, the front wheels are one of the main causes of chair shake. Divinità has solid front tires, as inflatable tires need to be inflated periodically and wear out faster. Despite lasting longer, the solid tires also reflect more the unevenness of the ground, so to dampen this effect, it has a front suspension with automotive springs. The best combination of comfort and durability.
CUSTOMIZED
People are different, and each one has different measurements and needs, so having a wheelchair made for you is important. Divinità has 3 sizes, plus standard adjustments for you to choose the best options. If you prefer, a physiotherapist or Occupational Therapy professional can give you the indications of the best measures for you. Even if your need is not yet met in this series of options, it is still possible to place specific orders, which will be evaluated by the factory.
POWER
Engine power is important to overcome obstacles such as ramps and drop-offs. To give the necessary performance, the Divinità wheelchair has 70% more power compared to engines with the same number of W of power. It features 5 easy-access power levels along with an easy-to-handle joystick. In addition to the factory configuration, there is the possibility of customizing acceleration, deceleration and braking as an optional configuration service. In practice, it has the strength to tow a Volkswagen Beetle!
Kit Cross, the bravest accessory
Electric wheelchairs may have variations in their own design, but they hardly have complementary equipment that helps to improve their performance. Green Innovation, which already manufactures Divinità, a high-end electric wheelchair, realized that it was possible to further improve the way it offered autonomy to its user.
Electric wheelchairs are designed for use in urban centers or places that offer a minimum of infrastructure. As strong and versatile as it is, it is difficult to overcome places with a high degree of difficulty, even considered extreme.
A different equipment would be needed, but through several studies, Green Innovation created an accessory called Kit Cross, made especially for the Divinità chair, adding more capabilities to be able to move in places that no other wheelchair can do independently. Making a comparison, it would be a 4×4 electric wheelchair.
There are proposals for amphibious wheelchairs, created with the purpose of being able to walk on sand and also float on water, aided by its large inflatable wheels. The main problem with this type of equipment is the lack of autonomy, as it needs another person trained to drive the chair both in sand and in water. Kit Cross offers autonomy to walk on the sand and reach the shallow part of the sea, and this ends up being much more useful for a day at the beach.
There are also models of chairs for adventure in places with vegetation and rocks, where it is very difficult to access a wheelchair. However, just like the amphibious chair, they depend on people to drive the equipment. Kit Cross manages to reduce a large part of this dependence, as it was designed to be able to overcome paths with woods, branches, earth and even clay.
Until now we have talked about natural areas, but urban centers also present many obstacles, and for some smaller cities, accessibility is not very present. So this equipment can also help a lot when walking on uneven floors or with boulders, climbing and descending gaps and steps, helping with traction on up and down hills.
Kit Cross is an optional item exclusive to the Divinità wheelchair, and thanks to its quick coupling system for the engines, you can remove the social wheels and install the motorized wheels of the Kit Cross easily and quickly.
Items that make up Divinità’s Kit Cross:
4-point sports seat belt
Additional battery
Pair of wheeled engines, tires and rear chambers
Structural chassis with wheels, tires and front chambers
Built-in LED headlamps kit
Four-wheel independent suspension
Special safety wheels
Hermetic battery box
travel cover
Note: In Divinità 8 and 10 inches you will need to purchase an additional 12-inch controller, if you already have a 12-inch Divinità, you will not need to purchase this item. 1 year warranty.
