The European Excellence awards for Accessible Tourism have been announced on 6 June 2014. They reward the efforts of private enterprises or public authorities in making services and facilities more accessible to tourists with special needs.
The best achievements in making tourism more accessible are:
Category 1: Accommodation and Catering
- The Westin Dragonara Resort, St Julians – Malta
This 5 star hotel on the Island of Malta was given the Most Accessible Hotel award. The Resort goes beyond basic accessibility requirements and ensures that the wellbeing of all guests is catered for in every way.
- eduCARE Hotel-Restaurant-Seminar Treffen – Austria
Where modern comfort meets spacious accommodation, offering every single guest a comfortable and carefree holiday experience.
- Hotel Village Florenz – lido di Comacchio – Italy
An accessible village offering practical, cost-effective solutions for blind, deaf-blind, and visually impaired guests.
- Complex President, Băile Felix – Romania
Offering quality treatments, particularly for those with rheumatism and movement/joint issues.

Offering a multitude of leisure activities, with special features for people with disabilities.
